Context
Piera Mattioli and I delivered a workshop in collaboration with Yunus Sports Hub for the IOC Young Leaders Programme.
The IOC Young Leaders were keen to learn:
What are the key principles of behaviour change design?
How can we apply this approach to our own work?
Challenge
Peer support groups or web-based chats for young people offer anonymous peer support in judgment-free spaces, where users may share their thoughts and feelings with others who may have experienced similar situations. User engagement is crucial for effective web-based peer support; however, levels of engagement vary. While moderation of peer support groups can have a positive impact on the engagement of young people, effective moderation can be challenging to implement.
Approach
Workshop design and facilitation In an interactive 1.5-hour session, Piera and I guided the IOC Young Leaders through three key behavioural science and service design tools and how to use them in combination to understand behaviour and design sports programmes that drive behaviour change.
